Great post- very creative! It makes cement removal look even more fun! Did you read Mindy's post at Fixer Upper the other day? She rented a demolition drill to break up their cement patio and it sounded like it made the breaking up part of the job easier.

We borrowed a jackhammer last year from a neighbour. It weighed about 80 or 90 pounds, it did make it a little easier. We were planning on saving the patio, however, it got in the way, and it's 50+ years old, so it's not in good condition. Deb finished breaking it up yesterday, after reading Mindy's post.

Whooo - the ladies are a force to be reckoned with. That concrete never stood a chance.

Seriously though, I'm impressed that you guys managed to get the job done with just a sledgehammer. Teague tried that route and didn't get very far. Nice job - plus, you saved yourself some money on the rental.

Love the post - very creative!

Two years ago, I got to crawl under the deck and drill a hole through the basement wall for the dryer vent when we converted the upstairs laundry room into a bathroom - one of the least fun projects thus far.
