EEEK!

I just had the living crap scared out of me!

I lifted up the lid of the compost to add in the recent kitchen scraps and saw this grey coloured mass scurry around on top of the last addition. Needless to say I let out a little scream and ran away. I came back a few minutes later, hands still shaking, to see if it had left and luckily it had. I guess it got in through the vents, or from underneath.

O how I loathe the rat!

My cat used to park herself on top of my old compost bin for hours on end looking for unwanted guests (these were mice, not rats). There was no way she could get in there even if she saw one, but still she kept her eyes glued on the compost down below.

Oh no! One new phobia added to my already long list. Thanks for that! ;-)

do you know what it was(eyes wide)? Reminds me of the time when I lifted up the garbage can lid on my 3rd floor apt. and what do you think was there hissing up at me? A possum! Climbed 3 flights of stairs.

Or the time when my boyfriend lifted up the toilet lid in teh basement bathroom and I won't tell you what little critter was in there staring up at him with beady eyes! Try sitting on the toilet after an incident like that. :)

I read this post and thought it was made by Pastor D-wreck until I saw it was yours, Deb! You need one of those ceramic cats from Chinatown to guard your compost. I wonder if those fake owls deter rats...?
