Hallway Progress

Here's a picture from when we first moved in. All the trim is painted, and there's at least 5 layers of wallpaper that have been painting. The hallway is only 30" wide, I'm sure that less than code these days.

Here's a shot of the living room doorway. We took the wallpaper off over 2 years ago. The walls have never been painted. And there's lots of cracks. We used a drywall compound with fibre called concrete fill. Then used hot mud over that to smooth is all out. Plaster washers hold the loose plaster in place.

This is when I just started this wall, I've almost skim coated the whole wall now. It was in rough shape, I think from the previous owner breaking out the bedroom walls with a sledgehammer.

Here looking down the hallway towards the front door. The foyer is all primed now, there's still a little bit of filling left to do. I want to smooth out the one wall a little more too.

We added spray foam around the front door. Not there was much of a gap, they used to fit those doors in tight. We still have a lot of work to do, sanding trim, stripping the floor, painting etc. Hopefully it won't take another 2 years to finish it.

You may have a little work to do, but those floors look great. What are they?

You've made great progress & a lot of it has been detail work that will pay off when you get to the painting stage. I'm sure it will take less than two years!

I'm sure hoping it will take less than 2 years. Otherwise I'm worried about how long all the other rooms will take. Should be primed by the end of this weekend.
